CASE NO 11. TALSINKI
Installation, pigment print mounted on aluminium, fog machine, refrigerator, custom electronics, ventilation, FullHD videos, sound, prints: each 30 × 45 cm, installation dimensions variable, 2016/2017
Project “Case No 11. TALSINKI” is a work that embodies two tightly connected parts. The first part unfolds the topic of Estonian cross-border workers who are working in Finland and continue on living in Estonia which requires constant traveling between Tallinn and Helsinki, two overseas capitals. The second part deals with the Finns who are carrying a great amount of cheap liquor and other commodities overseas. This phenomenon could also be described as a kind of economical exchange – on the one hand, the Finnish construction market relies on Estonian builders and on the other, the Finns are stimulating the Estonian economy by paying the excise tax.
